As Lab Manager at Subadra, I oversee daily operations and use gas chromatography to analyse soil and water samples for hydrocarbons. With over 20 years of experience in fuel hydrocarbon analysis, I have expanded our in-house geotechnical testing, introducing Atterberg limits and particle size distribution (PSD) testing. I also produce WM3 reports to support waste classification.
I hold both a Chemistry degree and a PhD from the University of Bristol, where I specialised in organic geochemistry. My research focused on natural products used in Ancient Egyptian embalming, providing insight into early preservation techniques.
After completing my PhD, I lived in Vancouver for five years, working for a large environmental testing laboratory. This experience broadened my expertise in analytical techniques and laboratory management.
Outside of work, I enjoy crafting, baking, and gardening, which allow me to apply my scientific curiosity in creative ways.
